What is Dogme ELT?
Dogme ELT is a simple teaching idea. It wants to make the classroom feel like real life, not like a stiff, boring lesson.
Instead of relying on a heavy textbook that tells you exactly what to say, you focus on what the students really care about. It turns your classroom into a social place where you talk to each other to learn language.

The Three Core Pillars
1. Conversation-Driven
Learning happens when you talk like real people. It is informal and social, not a scripted practice.
2. Materials-Light
You do not need a giant book. You use things that the students have, like a funny story or a photo on their phone.
3. Emergent Language
If a student uses a word or needs help with a grammar point during the talk, you teach that right then. It is very useful because it's what they need now.

What "Materials-Light" really means
Some people think this means you cannot use any paper. That is not true! You just don't want to use boring, pre-made books that don't fit your students' lives. You can use photos, songs, or even things the students wrote themselves.
What is "Post-Method"?
This is just a fancy way of saying: "There is no one perfect way to teach." You are a professional teacher. You don't have to follow a manual for every minute. You can choose what works best for your specific students on that specific day.
